In these days of calls to reduce the national herd by 30%, I was amused to see this old picture of Strand Street in my native Kanturk on the mother and father of all fair days in 1900

    Hello Mary,
Thanks so much for posting the Presentation staff photo. I have seen it before and I think it was taken in 1986. I joined them as a French language assistant for the 1988-1989 school term and had the pleasure to be on the staff photograph then.
On this photo I clearly recognize Noreen McCarthy, Colette Daly, Mary O’Flaherty, Geraldine O’Connor, Kathleen Hayes, Tony Behan, Johnny Flaherty, Mrs Prendiville (I forgot her first name) … Such good memories !! Thank you for the time travel 😉

      Hi Nathalie,
Bridget O Connor here. Lovely to hear from you again after such a long time. I have a few photos of you when you visited us many years ago. You bring back many happy memories indeed. Are you on Messenger or WhatsApp. I could share them with you.

        Hello Bridget,
I am delighted to read your message, Mary told me you were in touch.
Despite all those years I have never forgotten Listowel and the people I met there. I do hope to come back one day !!
Yes, I am on Messenger and Whatsapp, that would be great if we could chat again. I’m not very good with computers but I’m going to try and contact you.
        Enjoy a lovely Sunday.
        Best regards 🙂
        Nathalie.

        Hi again Bridget,
I have just sent you a friend request on Facebook so we can chat on Messenger. Don’t be afraid if you see the weird name with Listowel in it, that’s me 😉
        Nathalie.
